The above post had recorded around nine lakh views on the platform. Archives of similar claims can be found here, here, and here.

Is this claim true?: Neither is this video recent nor is it related to Pakistan. The video dates back to April 2020, and shows drills of Sukhoi 30SM fighter jet in Russia's Baltic Sea.

How did we find that out?: Using the help of Google Lens, we conducted a reverse image search and found a similar visual uploaded on the official website of Sputnik Media Bank.

  • Its caption said, "In this handout video grab released by Russian Defense Ministry a multipurpose Sukhoi 30SM fighter jet is seen during drills of application of airstrikes on surface targets in the Baltic Sea, Russia. Editorial use only, no archive, no commercial use."

  • The image was uploaded on 28 April 2020.

The image was published on 28 April 2020.

Finding the original video: Taking the information above as hints, we went through the official YouTube channel of Russia's Ministry of Defence.

  • This directed us to the full version of the viral clip, which was published on 28 April 2020.

  • At around the 0:21 timestamp, one could see the same visuals playing.

  • Its description said, "Footage of the flights of the Su-24, Su-30SM and Su-27 crews of the Baltic Fleet during scheduled training to carry out airstrikes on surface targets in the Baltic Sea."

Conclusion: It is evident that the video is old and is being incorrectly shared as a recent one and with a false claim.
