TRUE OR FALSE?

The claims made about the newspaper clipping are false. Fake news debunker Social Media Hoax Slayer spotted the viral clipping and debunked it. It was further independently verified by us.

WHAT WE FOUND OUT?

The clipping has been created by Akshay Kumar’s fans and has been widely tweeted by them. During our verification, we found that the newspaper clipping has been made using a newspaper clipping generator named fodey.com, which has a set template wherein one can change the name of the newspaper, headline, date and text of the story.

We tried making our own newspaper clipping using the template available on the website.

Interestingly, the text in the third column always remains the same irrespective of the entered text.

SAME TOOL USED FOR KEJRIWAL AND RAHUL GANDHI IN THE PAST

Similar fake claims have been made about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the past, using the same editing tool. Kejriwal was accused of raping a woman in the hostel of the India Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, where he went to pursue engineering in 1987.

Another newspaper clipping had earlier claimed that an 'Indian politician' who was the son of a former Indian Prime Minister had been detained by the Boston airport security, indicating that it was Rahul Gandhi.
