A video showing US President Donald Trump talking floods in Pakistan, saying that the reason for the "horrible floods" in the country was "not just climate, not just rain," but was because of "reckless water releases" after India allegedly opened dams in Kashmir.

Is it true?: No, there is no evidence of Trump making this statement.

  • We ran the clip through two AI voice detectors, both of which found the audio element to be generated using Artificial Intelligence.

How do we know?: We looked for credible reports carrying Trump's statements using the keywords 'Trump Pakistan floods', but did not find any reports, videos, or releases to corroborate the claim made in the video.

  • A reverse image search on the video led us to a YouTube video by Forbes, published in May 2025, which showed Trump talking about China.

  • Since there was no evidence that he blamed India for Pakistan's floods, we ran parts of video through Hive Moderation's and Hiya's AI-generated content detection tools.

  • Hive Moderation gave the audio section of the claim an 89.6 percent score of being likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.

It flagged the audio element as AI-generated.

  • Similarly, Hiya's Deepfake Voice Detector gave the audio an authenticity score of eight out of 100, saying that the voice was "likely a deepfake."

It said the voice was a deepfake.

  • Additionally, we came across an X post by the Press Information Bureau's (PIB) fact-checking wing, which called the video a deepfake.

  • It noted that the video was "artificially altered using AI tools."

Conclusion: An AI-manipulated video of US President Donald Trump is being shared to falsely claim that it shows him holding India responsible for the floods in Pakistan.
