A video of journalist Rajat Sharma and actor Amitabh Bachchan talking on live television about the remedies of joint pain is being shared on the internet as a recent one.
What does the claim say?: The post carried text that mentioned how one can control joint pain without using pain killers or putting any other efforts.
What's the truth?: The video carried several consistencies and is actually a deepfake. The original clip could be traced back to April 2014, and showed Bachchan talking about his film Bhoothnath Returns with Sharma.
How did we find that out?: We noticed several inconsistencies in the viral clip, such as the formatting and the lip movement not matching the words that can be heard.
Taking this forward, we performed a keyword search on YouTube using the words "aaj ki baat amitabh bachchan".
We came across the full version of the interview of Bachchan with Sharma, where we found both the figures dressed in the same attire as seen in the viral video.
The video was shared on 12 April 2014 on the official YouTube channel of India TV. It was titled, "Aaj Ki Baat 11/4/14."
It showed Bachchan talking about his film Bhoothnath Returns.
Comparing visuals: Team WebQoof compared keyframes from the viral video to the visuals available on the YouTube one and found that the former has been edited to make the viral claim.
