A video featuring Air Marshal Rakesh Sinha speaking to the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), has gone viral on social media, claiming that he confessed about the losses suffered by India against Pakistan during Operation Sindoor in May.

What did Sinha say?: "Okay, we are conducting exercise cold start which will be conducted in first week of October in central sectors since Pakistani drones infiltrated Delhi and Gujarat last time PM Modi told us that there should be no more infiltration from Pakistani drones. We have already lost two S-400 systems because of them. We will make sure Pakistani drones don't beat us again. (sic)"

Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false as this video has been created using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to allege that Sinha accepted India's losses against Pakistan in May.

What we found: At first, Team WebQoof ran a relevant keyword search and found a similar video on PTI's X page from 23 September.

  • It was a video interview with Sinha about testing drone systems in October, highlighting the need to stay ahead in military thinking and planning.

What he said:

We are conducting exercise Cold Start, which will be conducted in first week of October in central sector, where we are going to test drones and the counter drone systems. Participating is all three services, industry partners, R&D partners, academia, everyone will be there.
