Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false as this image is AI-generated.

What we found: We ran the image on Google reverse image search and did not find any credible sources to support the claim.

  • We also ran a relevant keyword search to find reports which state points mentioned in the claim.

  • We, then, noticed some irregularities in the image. His glasses were missing a stick and the nose appeared to look blurry while the rest of the image had decent clarity.

  • The image also included a small, blurry logo of Grok AI, a generative AI chatbot, in its bottom right corner.

Additional context: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have been blaming one another for lavish spending on official residences.

The BJP criticised former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for constructing a “Sheesh mahal,” the AAP retorted by claiming that PM Modi resided in a “Rajmahal” valued at ₹2,700 crores, reported the Hindustan Times.

Conclusion: An AI-generated image of PM Modi went viral with a false claim.
