A video of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is being shared on social media platforms, showing him getting nostalgic about a street food vendor in Delhi.

Here's what he said:

When I was in school, I used to go to a Chole Bhature uncle's shop every day. I was an ordinary kid. Rarely, I had money in my pocket. But still, I used to go there every day and smile and say, Hi uncle, did you recognise me? And that uncle would always give me Chole Bhature with a smile. Years passed without even asking for the money back. I got busy in cricket, started playing for India, and people started recognising me. But somewhere, that Chole Bhature uncle and his small shop always stayed in my heart. One day, I thought, let's go back to the same street where it all started. I got out of the car, and as soon as I reached the restaurant, the same line repeated. Hi uncle, did you recognise me? Uncle smiled and said, Yes, I recognised you. But now you won't get Chole Bhature on loan! I laughed and said, I didn't come to buy anything today, I came to give. Then I looked into his eyes and said, Uncle, you make Chole Bhature every day in the sun. From now on, you will sit in this new restaurant and work comfortably. I made a new restaurant for him. A small attempt for that big-hearted person who supported me countless times in my earlier days. When he saw that new restaurant, he had tears in his eyes. What we found: At first, we noticed a preview of a restaurant like structure with the name, 'Fattoush.'

• We ran a keyword search to know if Kohli owned any establishment with this name, but, did not find anything.

• We, then, divided the clip into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.

• We found a video on Royal Challengers Bengaluru's YouTube channel from 2022. It matched with the frame where Kohli can be heard talking in a black jacket.

• In this video, Kohli spoke about his journey in RCB and the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years. He did not speak about any new restaurant.

• Overall, the viral video was a compilation of images and clips of Kohli, such as this, this and this.

• Team WebQoof also noticed that the words being spoken did not match with Kohli's lip movement.

• Taking these hints, we ran the video on Hive Moderation and found that the audio was 99% generated using AI.
