How did Shailesh Yadav meet his end? The 50-year-old son of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav was found dead in his Lucknow home on Wednesday.

He was accused in the mother of all scams in Madhya Pradesh, the ‘Vyapam Scam’, also known as ‘Multi-layered Professional Examination Board scam’. Yadav was charged with taking bribes from 10 applicants appearing for the contractual teacher’s examination in Madhya Pradesh.

Yadav’s body was reportedly discovered by his domestic help. He found Shailesh on the ground with blood oozing out of his ear, according to a report by The Pioneer.

Shailesh Yadav was thought to have died due to a brain haemorrhage. But several theories have now emerged. The postmortem report says there was an injury above the right eyebrow and nose and bruises on his palms and feet.

Another report speculates about the presence of a poison-like substance inside Yadav’s body. The reports also quotes a postmortem expert:

The samples being preserved means that the death was because of some unwanted material inside the body. It might as well be poison or a medicine overdose.

All that can be said about Yadav’s death is that the cause of death is unclear. The mystery surrounding his death will likely be solved only once the entire postmortem report is out and the police complete investigations.
