RJD Supporters Jubilant

Celebrations are in full-swing outside Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence, with RJD supporters bringing especially made posters.

Lalu Prasad Yadav has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah as well.

A supporter designed a large poster in which Tej Pratap and Aishwarya Rai appear as Hindu gods Shiva and Parvati respectively.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the couple on the wedding, but sources told The Quint that she is unlikely to be among the attendees. A senior TMC leader is expected to represent the party at the wedding.

NCP Leader Praful Patel Attends the Wedding

Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel took to Twitter on Saturday and extended his wishes to the new couple and Lalu Prasad Yadav. Patel said that he "spent a good time" with Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Unruly Crowd Looted Food and Crockery at Tej Pratap's Wedding

Chaos prevailed at the wedding of Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, as an unruly crowd breached the cordon separating the pandal meant for VIPs and the media and started looting food items.

Preparations were made for thousands of people gathered for the wedding. Shortly after Tej Pratap and Aishwarya exchanged garlands, a horde of people – believed to be RJD supporters, broke the cordon and started looting food items. Soon the entire area was strewn with broken crockery and upturned tables and chairs, while a number of

Caterers complained that unruly crowd looted some of their utensils and other items.

Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, married RJD MLA Chandrika Rai’s daughter Aishwarya on 12 May. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav were among the attendees.
