From Cong Chief to Power Hungry: Guha’s Change of Heart on Nitish

Guha has been an admirer of Nitish in the past, leading to the suggestion that he be made the Congress chief.

Historian Ramachandra Guha had proposed earlier in July that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should be made Congress’ chief, reported The Wire. However, soon after Guha’s suggestion, Nitish resigned as the Bihar CM, broke the JD(U)-RJD grand alliance and formed the government again with BJP’s support. Guha termed Nitish greedy for power following the latest developments.

Guha has been an admirer of Nitish in the past, leading to his suggestion of making him the face for Congress. On the issue of Congress, Guha had also recently called party Vice President Rahul Gandhi an “accidental tourist in Indian politics”.
