Rahul Gandhi was granted bail, on 6 July, on Saturday, in a defamation case filed against him by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi. He will have to deposit Rs 10,000 in court, News 18 reported.
Speaking to reporters he said, “Whoever stands against RSS' and Narendra Modi ji's ideology is attacked, court cases are slapped. My fight is to save the Constitution, to stand for the poor and the farmers.”
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi appeared before a court in Patna in connection with a defamation suit filed against him by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi. Before the hearing Rahul tweeted, saying “Satyameva Jayate”, adding that his political opponents were trying to intimidate him.
Gandhi's appearance in the court on Saturday comes days after he as well as CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury pleaded not guilty in Mumbai’s Mazgaon-Sewree metropolitan magistrate's court, in a separate defamation case filed against them by an RSS worker.
