Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav reinstated Ram Gopal Yadav as the party’s General Secretary and spokesperson on Thursday morning.
The Member of Parliament from Samajwadi Party, Ram Gopal will now be part of the party’s Central Parliamentary board.
Ram Gopal Yadav was expelled from the party for six years on 23 October.
He was sacked following the instructions of Mulayam Singh Yadav, by SP State President Shivpal Yadav, who used his discretionary powers hours after he was removed from the Akhilesh Yadav cabinet in a retaliatory action.
He has strongly supported Akhilesh Yadav in the entire family feud.
In a recent press conference in Etawah, Ram Gopal has broken down and had said that he will always remain a SP member as he was the one who selected its flag, the party symbol and also drafted its constitution 25 years back.
A hint of rapprochement was visible on Wednesday during the demonetisation debate in Rajya Sabha when Ram Gopal spoke as an SP member and nobody from his party opposed him.
Amar Singh, who was one of the reasons for the party’s feud refused to comment on Ram Gopal being reinstated.
“I don't like commenting as Ram Gopal Yadav is an insider and will remain so and I am an outsider and will remain so,” he said.
