Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday credited the success of the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) teachings.

A Prime Minister from the land of Mahatma Gandhi and a Defence Minister from Goa is a “different kind of combination” and “maybe the RSS teachings" were instrumental in the decision making, he said while speaking at an event named ‘Know Your Army’ at Nirma University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

I wonder that a Prime Minister from land of Mahatma Gandhi and a defence minister from Goa and surgical strikes, the situation was quite… maybe the RSS teachings was there, but this was very different kind of combination.

Reiterating his statements about the integrity – or in his opinion, the lack of it – of the people who ask for the proof of the surgical strikes, Parrikar said:

When Indian Army says something we should believe it. It (Army) is world’s best, professional, brave and having a very high integrity. I do not feel that anybody will seek proof from them (Army) here in Ahmedabad.

Is This Not Deshdroh? Asks Twitter

Reacting to Parrikar’s statements, Congress leader Sanjay Jha took to Twitter to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its intentions.

From “Khoon Ki Dalali” to “Deshdrohi”, all the earlier comments that were made against the government, resurfaced.
