Kiran Bedi Bans Use of Siren in VIP Cars in Puducherry

Lt Governor Kiren Bedi has also directed that no special privilege will be accorded to VIP cars.

• Use of sirens in VIP cars, including the escort and pilot vehicles of the Lieutenant Governor, has been banned in Puducherry. However, emergency services like ambulances and fire service vehicles, will be exempted from the restriction.
  
  
• The order has been issued by Puducherry Lt Governor Kiren Bedi. Bedi has also directed that no special privilege will be accorded to VIP cars.
  
  
• Traffic police will also ensure that a sufficient number of officers are present to regulate traffic without halting it or inconveniencing commuters.
