BJP Will Win Majority in Himachal Elections: India Today-Axis Poll

According to the predicted vote share, BJP is likely to get 49 percent of the votes polled.

The BJP will sweep Himachal Pradesh when the hill state goes to polls on 9 November, according to an opinion poll.

The poll, conducted by India Today-Axis My India, predicts that the BJP will register a victory by defeating the Virbhadra Singh-led Congress incumbent government.

The BJP is likely to get 49 percent of the votes polled, the poll suggets.

In the region-wise seat share, the BJP will maintain a lead in Kangra, Mandi and Shimla.

Respondents said that development, employment, roads and electricity featured among the biggest poll issues.

Votes will be counted on 18 December.
