Exit Polls Show BJP Will Win Fifth Consecutive Term in Gujarat   

The results for the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be declared on 18 December.

Most TV channels, in their exit polls, projected a win for the BJP which has been ruling Gujarat for the past 22 years. The second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections came to a close on 14 December with a total voter turnout for both phases of polling recorded at 67.40 percent.

Here is a roundup of the exit polls that clearly show the BJP leading ahead of Congress in Gujarat.

Exit polls are usually seen as an indicator of the polling trends, with some proving to be in sync with the final results, but others ending up being inaccurate.

The results for the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be declared on 18 December.

Today's Chanakya gave the BJP 124-146 seats in Gujarat and predicted a measly 36-58 for the Congress, 14 less than what the Opposition party has in the current Assembly. It predicted a vote-share of 49 percent for the BJP and 38 percent for the Congress.

India Today exit poll said that while the BJP will win 106 seats, the Congress would only get 75.

The News Nation exit poll gave the BJP as many as 124-128 seats, the Congress between 52 and 56 seats and 1-3 for the others.

The News X exit poll gave 110-120 seats to the BJP and 65-75 seats to the Congress, leaving 2-4 seats for the others.

The NDTV said the BJP was likely to clinch 112 seats and the Congress 70.

The Republic-C Voter exit poll gave the BJP 108 seats and the Congress 74.

The region-wise prediction by ABP News predicts the BJP is going to lead in north, south and central regions.

The exit poll shows the BJP will win 32-38 seats out of 53 in north Gujarat.

In south Gujarat, ABP news predicts that the BJP will win 58 seats out of 89.

The ABP News exit poll says the BJP will win more than half the number of seats in central Gujarat.

Times Now-VMR and India Today-Axis My India predicted 47 percent vote-share for the BJP and 42 percent and 41 percent vote-share respectively for the Congress.
