Can Narendra Modi vote for anyone other than BJP? On face value, this question seems awfully weird, doesn't it? However, on discovering that this time alone 49 "Narendra Modis” will be casting their votes in the Gujarat elections, one's perspective might change significantly.

It is a fact that on the same day, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be voting for BJP, 48 other Narendra Modis will be pressing their desired button on the electronic voting machine.

It is Raining ‘Narendra Modi’ in Ahemadabad

If you type "Narendra Modi"on the Gujarat's official election website, you will find 49 people named "Narendra Modi" on the list. The third name on this list will be that of Prime Minister Narendra Damordas Modi, who will cast his vote on Himanshu Higher Secondary School in Ahemadabad's Ranip district.

In local elections, parties often hand over tickets to those who have names similar to their desired candidates. However, the case is quite the contrary here. The voters, in this case, have names similar to the desired candidate instead of the ticket bearers. Hence, even though this does not make the slightest difference to the election process, it does make for a very interesting coincidence.

However, this overflow of ‘Narendra Modi’s is not limited to Ahmedabad. You will find lots of Narendra Modis listed among the voters on the entire stretch from Mahrani to Surat.

Way Too Many Rahul Gandhis, Too

If you're surprised to hear about so many NaMos, let us tell you there are 16 RaGas on the list, as well. It is also fascinating to find that 14 out of these 16 Rahul Gandhis are under 40 years of age ie, the youth.

The first phase of polling in Ahmedabad is going to happen on 9 December. On that day, multiple "Narendra Modis” and “Rahul Gandhis” are going to step out of their houses to cast their votes. The official on the booth will have to try really hard to suppress his grin when he surveys their voter IDs.
