Police in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh have registered a case against two people after a poster surfaced on Sunday showing Mayawati as Kali, slaying Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union Minister HRD Minister Smriti Irani, as reported by The Indian Express.

The poster was on display during a procession to mark the 125th birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar.

The top of the poster stated “Mayawati roared in Parliament” and the name of the creator of the poster was mentioned as Dhruv Singh Kardam.

The discovery and removal of the poster led BJP leaders to lodge a complaint with the police on Monday evening. Circle Officer Narendra Dev said the two people named in the FIR are Om Prakash organiser of the procession, and Kardam creator of the poster.

Former Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman, who had gone to inaugurate the procession, said the poster had been removed before he could reach there. He added that workers from various parties had taken part in the procession.

Any such depiction in politics is not acceptable. There should be a healthy criticism of political opponents.

BSP’s zonal coordinator and MLC Sunil Kumar Chittor said the party had nothing to do with the programme or contentious poster. He added that the people who made the poster were not office bearers of the BSP.
