Not too long ago, yoga guru Baba Ramdev found a political abode in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) warm embrace. However, while talking to The Quint at a Dainik Bhaskar event on Thursday, the spiritual leader revealed that his political proximity to the party is now “a thing of the past”.

Ramdev’s comments come at a time when Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for the 2017 Assembly elections. The yoga guru has often rallied behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now that he has clearly implied a change in stance, is the guru switching loyalties?
