Portfolio allocation in Delhi government was finalised on Monday, 17 February, soon after Arvind Kejriwal took charge as the chief minister at Delhi Secretariat.

Kejriwal will not hold charge of any department and instead will be overseeing works of all his ministers, PTI quoted an official as saying, adding that he will monitor operational processes and functioning of all departments.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), which as held by Kejriwal in the previous government, will be under Satyendra Kumar Jain. Jain will continue to head the public works, home, health, industries, power and urban development departments in the new AAP government.

Labour Minister Gopal Rai will hold the Environment Department and will have the challenge of reducing pollution level in the national capital, while the Department of Women and Child Development has been allocated to Rajendra Pal Gautam.

The rest of the departments are to continue as per earlier allocation. All newly-appointed ministers will continue to hold the same charges as in the previous AAP government formed in February 2015.
