Delhi High Court has issued a notice to law minister Jitender Singh Tomar over an alleged wrong declaration of educational qualifications.

The court has sought a response based on BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg’s plea. Tomar has to file a counter-affidavit before 17th May 2015.

The plea demanded that Tomar’s election from Tri Nagar assembly constituency should be declared invalid, since his nomination papers contain wrong information.

The issue of the validity of Tomar’s law degree is being scrutinized by the High Court on a separate petition.

The petition, filed in February, alleged that Tomar had taken admission into the LLB course at the Bishwanath Singh Institute of Legal Study College, in Bihar on the basis of a “fake” degree.

The Bar Council of Delhi has also recently issued a notice to him which said that the undergraduate degree, mark-sheets and roll number submitted by Tomar at the time of his admission to the LLB course were “completely fake”.
