Two elected representatives of the ruling BJP came to blows during a district planning committee meeting in UP's Sant Kabir Nagar on Wednesday, 6 March, in full public view.
Sharad Tripathi, a BJP MP from Sant Kabir Nagar, and Rakesh Baghel, an MLA from Mehdawal, got into a verbal duel over taking credit for a newly constructed road. After a brief exchange of words, laced with abuses, both came to blows with one of them using a shoe to thrash the other. Soon, a video clip of the incident surfaced on TV channels.
