The BJP-AGP-BPF alliance is all set to achieve a majority in Assam, according to an opinion poll conducted by ABP News-Nielsen.The current Assam CM, Tarun Gogoi will lose to his BJP-AGP-BPF alliance counterpart in the upcoming assembly elections, says the survey.

The poll projected that the BJP alliance would be able to secure 78 seats combined. Congress, on the other hand, will get only 36 seats, while the AUDF is expected to secure 10 seats.

The ruling Congress party is likely to see a dip in vote share from the 39.6 percent in 2011 to 34 percent. The BJP-AGP-BPF alliance will achieve a 44 percent vote share.

39 percent agreed on Tarun Gogoi being the most popular leader, while 29 percent found Sarbanand Sonowal the most popular leader.

When questioned about BJP’s poll agenda, 44 percent believed it to be the issue of development, 24 percent said Hindutva, while a meager 14 percent said BJP is concerned about both issues.
