50 Injured in Clashes Between PML-N Workers & Police in Lahore
At least 50 people were injured during clashes between PML-N workers and police in Pakistan's Punjab province during rallies held in connection with the arrival of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Lahore, PTI reported.
The country's anti-graft body – National Accountability Bureau – arrested Nawaz and Maryam in the Avenfield properties case upon their arrival in Lahore on 13 July.
Reports: Summons Issued to Shashi Tharoor by Kolkata Court for 'Hindu Pak' Remark
According to ANI, a Kolkata advocate filed a petition against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor.
Tharoor, however, in a statement to The Quint confirmed that he had “received nothing so far”.
In the alleged complaint the lawyer reportedly claimed that Tharoor stated that if Indians vote for a particular party (BJP) in 2019 General Elections, it would hurt the Constitution further.
Fresh Batch of Pilgrims Leave for Amarnath Yatra
A fresh batch of over 3,000 pilgrims left Jammu for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas, PTI reported.
“The fresh batch of 3,048 pilgrims, including 623 women and 144 sadhus, left Jammu in 112 vehicles for the twin base camps in the Valley under tight security in the wee hours,” a police official said to PTI.
No Early Polls, Hints BJP President Amit Shah
BJP President Amit Shah hinted that there will be no early polls in a speech in Telangana on Friday, 13 July, and that Lok Sabha polls would be held as per schedule in April/May 2019, Deccan Chronicle reported.
Jagannath Rath Yatra Starts in Ahmedabad
The 141st Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath began on the morning of 14 July in Ahmedabad, Gujarat amid tight security as lakhs of devotees flocked to the 18km route to catch a glimpse of the deity, PTI reported.
PTI added that Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel performed 'Pahind Vidhi' - a symbolic ritual of cleaning the way for the chariots using a golden broom.

Rescued Thai Cave Boys to Leave Hospital Thursday
Twelve young footballers and their coach rescued from a Thai cave will be released from hospital on Thursday, health officals said, offering pychological support and urging the group to avoid media interviews despite huge interest in their against-the-odds survival story, PTI reported.
The group went into the Tham Luang cave in northern Thailand on June 23 to celebrate a birthday, but became trapped as floodwaters poured in. They were rescued on 10 July.
Afghan Official Says Insurgents Kill 11 Soldiers in Farah Province Kabul
An Afghan official said at least 11 soldiers were killed when their checkpoint came under an attack by Insurgents in western Farah province, PTI reported.
Mohammad Naser Mehri, spokesman for the provincial governor, says four other soldiers were wounded in the gun battle in Bala Buluk district. Mehri said nine insurgents were killed and 13 others wounded.
Mehri said a "large number" of insurgents launched an attack late last night and the battle continued into early today.
The Taliban have not claimed responsibility for the attack but but Mehri blamed the group, which has recently stepped up assaults against Afghan security forces in the province.
BJP: Amit Shah Shah Making Assurances on Ram Mandir Was Not Even on Agenda
The BJP denied reports that party president Amit Shah made assurances that a Ram Mandir would be built, in a meeting in Hyderabad yesterday. The party said to ANI, that “no such matter was even on the agenda”.
Modi Lays Foundation Stone for Purvanchal Expressway
PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh.
He said, “Purvanchal Expressway will take UP, especially eastern UP, to greater heights. More than Rs 23,000 crore will be spent on it. All the cities, towns and places falling in the route will experience a change.”
He added, “We are working on not only highway but also waterway and airway. Ships sailing from Varanasi to Haldia will take this entire region ahead on the path of industrial development. 12 airports are being developed under UDAN scheme.”
“The take of these parties on triple talaq have exposed them. On one side the Centre is trying to make the lives of women easy, on the other side these people have grouped together to make the lives of women, especially Muslim women, difficult”, said PM Modi.
India Expected to Be $10 Trillion Economy by 2030: Garg
Indian economy is on a stage of "take off" and is expected to be the world's third largest by 2030 with GDP worth USD 10 trillion, Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg said on 14 July.
"Good days are ahead and lot of good work is happening in the economy. The economy is on a stage of take off where Indians can legitimately hold their heads high," he said.
Boat Carrying 32 Capsizes in East Godavari, Six Missing
Six people, including five girls and a woman, were missing after a country boat they were travelling in capsized in river Gautami in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district on Saturday evening, an official communique said.
The AP State Disaster Management Authority said 26 passengers of the boat were rescued but two of them were hospitalised with injuries.
Thirty-two passengers were travelling in the boat that was on its way from Saladivari Palem to Pasuvullanka when it capsized after colliding with a pier of an under-construction bridge.
The number of fatalities was yet to be confirmed, the SDMA said.
