Two People Critical in Shooting Outside Melbourne Nightclub

At least four people were injured in a shooting outside a Melbourne nightclub in Australia, Reuters reported. Two people are in critical condition, police said to AFP. There has been nothing so far to indicate that the shooting is terror-related.

Fire at Godown Factory in Delhi Under Control

A fire that broke out at a rubber godown in Delhi’s Siraspur, earlier in the morning today is under control now. 26 fire tenders had been rushed to the spot. No casualties have been reported yet.

Two Persons Arrested in Himachal Pradesh For Allegedly Carrying Drugs

Two persons were arrested in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district for allegedly carrying drugs, police said Sunday. The two were held on Saturday night while they were crossing the Banjar police station area in a truck.

Over two kg charas was recovered from their possession, Kullu Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri said.

A case under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against them, the officer said.

NIA Arrests Another in Connection With CRPF Attack

National Investigation Agency today arrested an Irshad Ahmad Reshi in connection with the attack on CRPF Group Centre, Lethpora (J&K). He is fifth accused to have been arrested in the case during follow up investigation upon disclosures of accused Nisar Ahmed Tantray & Syed Hilal Andrabi arrested earlier.

He will be produced before the Special NIA court tomorrow.

Heroin Worth Rs 55 Lakh Seized From Nepalese National in UP

Heroin worth Rs 55 lakh was seized from a Nepalese national in Sonauli along the Indo-Nepal border in Mahrajganj, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday by a joint team of police and SSB personnel, an official said.

Birbal Chaudhery (25) was arrested from the Sonauli bus stand following his arrival from Nepal with the contraband in possession, he said. Sonauli is a common transit point between India and Nepal.

The heroin was seized and an investigation is underway, the official added.

Vehicle Used in Kishtwar Terror Attack Seized in Jammu

Police have seized the car used in the Kishtwar terror attack in which a senior RSS functionary and his PSO were killed, an officer said Sunday.

The vehicle was recovered from an area in Kishtwar district, he said. Police have released a photograph of the owner of the vehicle, Zahid Hussain, who had been absconding since the attack, the officer said.

Hussain has reportedly joined terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen recently but police did not confirm this. According to sources, the car had a false number plate and had changed hands four times.

Struggling carrier Jet Airways Sunday said its Independent Director Rajshree Pathy has quit the company, effective 13 April, citing time constraints and other commitments.

"This is to inform you that Rajshree Pathy has submitted her resignation as an Independent Director of the company with effect from April 13, owing to time constraints and on account of her other current commitments," Jet Airways said in an exchange filing.
