39 Indians Abducted by ISIS in 2014 Still Alive: MEA

The abducted Indians are unharmed, but no official demand has been made for their release, said an MEA spokesperson.

The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday announced that the 39 Indians who were taken hostage by the ISIS from the Iraqi town of Mosul in 2014 are alive.

According to ANI, the abducted Indians were unharmed, however no official demand has been made for their release.

Speaking to the press, External Affairs spokesperson Gopal Baglay said that this was a “sensitive” issue.

The Ministry is in touch with all countries that can help us.

The Indians have been in captivity for three years now, with ISIS capturing Mosul in 2014.
