YS Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of unified Andhra Pradesh YS Rajashekar Reddy and sister of YRS Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, on Monday, 14 January, has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad police regarding posts on social media linking her with film actor Prabhas of ‘Baahubali’ fame, according to The Times of India.
Sharmila sought criminal action against those alleging that she is in a relationship with the Telugu actor.
YRSC leaders YV Subha Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy also accompanied her. She has also hit out at the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, saying that they could be responsible for her character assassination.
Sharmila also hit out at the TDP for the fake news against her father YSR for labelling him as factionist and calling her brother Jaganmohan aggressive.
According to The News Minute, Sharmila said, “Without any doubt I can tell that Telugu Desam Party is behind this campaign. It is not new for the TDP to spread rumours, earlier they spread rumours that my father Rajasekhar Reddy was a factionist.”
She said, as reported by The Times of India, "Now 2019 elections are approaching. They started a smear campaign with baseless information. This is an attack on women."
