Yogi Suspends 8 UP Officials for Showing Negligence Towards Cattle

The action from the Chief Minister comes after as many as 35 cattle were found dead at a shelter in Prayagraj.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reportedly suspended eight officials and sent show cause notices to three others, including the District Magistrate of Prayagraj, for allegedly showing negligence in maintaining cattle, according to news agency ANI.

This comes after as many as 35 cattle were found dead at a shelter in Prayagraj.

The report further says that the CM has also directed the commissioner of Prayagraj to investigate all the aspects of the death of the destitute cow, by determining the relative responsibility of the concerned, the report said.

The Uttar Pradesh CM also issued a warning that criminal proceedings might be initiated under the Prevention of Animal Husbandry Act and the Animal Prevention Act, ANI further said.
