Hinting at a possible ‘anti-BJP’ federal front ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said that she is willing to enter into an alliance with other parties if the BSP is given a fair seat share. Else, she said, her party will be contesting alone.
Addressing workers at the party’s national executive meeting, she said that cadres “should be prepared for any situation”, reports the Times of India.
Mayawati also said that workers should not expect any other leader to be leading the party in the next twenty years, at least, pointing out that some leaders were trying to secure positions for their family in the party.
She also asked party cadre to not run after leadership positions in the party, reports The Indian Express.
