22 Dead in Rain-Related Incidents in HP, Flood Alert for Delhi
About 10 houses of the villages have been damaged in Uttarakhand.
At least 22 people were killed and 12 others injured in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, 18 August, officials cited by PTI said. An official said the total loss to the state property amounted to Rs 490 crore.
Meanwhile, 18 people are missing in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi after an overflowing Tons river washed away as many as 20 houses, reported NDTV.
The Uttarkashi-Dehradun highway has also been closed due to a landslide, and teams of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Fund and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in rescue and evacuation operations in the state.

Army Intensifies Relief and Rescue Operations
The Indian Army has intensified its relief and rescue operations in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. As on 10 August, a total of nine relief teams and 12 engineer teams are providing assistance to the flood-affected persons in Kohlapur and Sangli regions in Maharashtra, ANI reported.
19 Deaths Reported in Rain-Related Mishaps Across Gujarat
Nineteen persons were killed in rain-related mishaps in Gujarat on Friday night and on Saturday, including 16 deaths in incidents of wall/building collapse, as heavy rains lashed Saurashtra and central Gujarat.
As of Saturday morning, Gujarat had received 77.80 percent of annual average rainfall, with south Gujarat receiving 98.31 percent rainfall, PTI reported, citing the Met department data.
With every tehsil in the state receiving good showers and water stock in dams at 60 percent, there is no drought any longer, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reportedly said.
Rain Lashes Parts of Rajasthan, Expected to Intensify on Sunday
Showers continued to lash several parts of Rajasthan including the capital Jaipur on Saturday, PTI reported, quoting a Met department official.
Udaipur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh and Sirohi districts recorded 3 to 15 cm rainfall in 24 hours (ending 8 am on Saturday).
The maximum 15 cm rainfall was recorded in Pratapgarh whereas Khairwada and Salumber recorded 12 cm each and Aspur received 10 cm rainfall during the period.
In Jaipur, light rainfall was recorded whereas Dabok and Ajmer recorded 0.8 cm rainfall each between 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday.
The Met department has forecast rainfall at several places of the state in the next 24 hours.
Odisha Officials to Submit Assessment Reports by 17 August
The Odisha Special Relief Commissioner has directed the District Collectors of Bolangir, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangur, Rayagada and Sambalpur to submit an assessment report by 17 August on damages to private properties due to the floods and heavy rainfall.
Instructions have also been issued to various government departments to submit a report on assessment of damage to public properties.
Devendra Fadnavis Assures Complete Assistance
Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, made an appeal for people to not panic and urged all political parties not to politicise the situation.
“Earlier kins of deceased used to get ₹1.5 lakh which is now increased to ₹5 lakh. In case of divyang we are giving ₹2 lakh instead of ₹43,000, for house damage assistance of ₹1 lakh instead of ₹60,000 Team of 100 doctors is deployed in every district,” he tweeted (sic).

1 Killed, 5 Trapped as Landslides Hit Uttarakhand's Chamoli
A woman was buried alive while five others were trapped in the rubble on Monday, 12 August, as landslides triggered by heavy rains hit three different places in the watershed area of Chuflagad, a tributary of Mandakini river in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district.
The debris of landslides fell over three houses in Banjabgad and Lankhi villages in Ghat area of the district early on Monday, trapping the occupants inside, District Disaster Management officer NK Joshi said.
The woman's body was pulled out from underneath the debris by rescuers at Banjabgad. Her nine-month-old daughter is still trapped, Joshi said.
Water Recedes in Maharashtra's Kolhapur, NH-4 Likely to Open Today
Water has started receding in Maharashtra's flood-hit Kolhapur district and the Mumbai-Bengaluru national highway, which has been closed due to water-logging for last six days. It is likely to open on Monday, officials said.
Continuous discharge of water from Almatti dam in Karnataka brought down the water level of the Panchganga river in Kolhapur where it was flowing above the danger mark.
The Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway No 4 has been shut for last six days due to flooding and is likely to open for vehicular movement on Monday, once the water recedes, an official said.
Thousands of heavy vehicles have been stuck on both sides of the highway since flooding occurred there, the official noted.
Maharashtra Floods: Mumbai-B'luru Highway Partially Opens for Traffic
The Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway No. 4, that was closed near Kolhapur in Maharashtra for the last six days, was partially opened for traffic on Monday after the flood waters receded, an official said.
Traffic movement was allowed on Monday morning between Kolhapur and Belgaum in Karnataka through one lane on either side of Shiroli bridge, Kolhapur's Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh told PTI.
“A portion of the highway is still submerged up to 1.5 feet under the flood waters, but we decided to allow heavy vehicles to ply as Kolhapur city has been struggling to get the essential commodities," Deshmukh added.

6 Killed in Landslides as Heavy Rains Lash Uttarakhand
Landslides triggered by heavy rains killed six people, including an infant, in Uttarakhand on Monday which also saw two buildings being swept away by the flooded Chuflagad river and roads to the Himalayan shrines blocked by landslip debris.
Debris of landslides fell over three houses in Banjbagad, Aligaon and Lankhi villages in Ghat area of Chamoli district early on Monday, burying alive six people, including a woman and her nine-month-old daughter, the state emergency operation centre (SEOC) said in Dehradun.
Most Teams in Maharashtra Now Involved in Distributing Relief Material, Medicines
Defence PRO on Tuesday, 13 August, said that deinduction of some teams has started in Maharashtra.
"Most (of the teams) are now involved in distributing relief material and medicines. Around 2.5 tons of ration is being delivered to villages of Rajapur & Rajapur Wadi. Medical camp doctors along with medical supplies have been sent to villages."
Rescue Ops Over, Focus on Relief in Flooded Areas of Maharashtra
With flood waters receding in Kolhapur and Sangli, the administrations of both the districts in western Maharashtra are now focusing on providing essential supplies to people affected by the rain fury.
Rescue operations are over in both the districts, the authorities told PTI on Tuesday, adding that they have started assessing losses to provide monetary assistance accordingly.
The Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway (NH-4), which was submerged under flood waters last week, was partially opened for traffic on Monday after the water receded and slow vehicular movement was being allowed on it, Kolhapur's resident deputy collector Sanjay Shinde reportedly said.
"The first phase, which was to rescue and evacuate flood-hit people, is over now. The second phase of providing relief material is currently underway," he said.
'Flood Waters Receding in Sangli, Relief Material Being Provided at over 160 Camps'
An NDRF official currently deployed in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra reportedly said on Tuesday that their teams carried fodder for the starving animals in Shirol tehsil in the morning.
Sangli Collector Abhijit Choudhari told PTI that the rescue operation was completed in his district and their main focus was on providing essential supplies to people.
"Relief material is being provided to people at over 160 camps set up in the district. We are also working on assessing the losses," he said.
Another official at the collectorate told the agency that the flood waters were receding rapidly in Sangli.
"Around 17 villages are marooned. Essential items are being sent there through boats as roads in those areas are in a bad condition," she said.

Met Department Predicts Heavy Rains in Kolhapur, Satara
Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy showers at isolated places in the hilly areas in Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts of Maharashtra on Wednesday.
The forecast released on Tuesday afternoon is set to increase the worries of the administration as Kolhapur and Sangli districts in western Maharashtra are still struggling to emerge from the massive floods that had swamped the region.
Many dams, including Koyna, Warana and Radhanagari, are located at the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range in the region.

Seventy people have died in rain-related incidents in Madhya Pradesh since 15 June, when the monsoon hit the state, Revenue Department Additional Secretary GV Rashmi said, PTI reported.
Fresh rains were expected by Saturday morning, according to the India Meteorological Department.
RR Tripathi of IMD Bhopal reportedly said that heavy rainfall may occur in the districts of Agar-Malwa, Sheopur, Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Guna and Rajgarh by Saturday morning.

Over 4,000 people have been moved to relief camps in Guntur and Krishna districts of Andhra Pradesh as the Krishna River is in spate, causing floods and affecting normal life, PTI reported on Friday, 16 August.
A second warning was issued at the Prakasam Barrage across Krishna river in Vijayawda which was carrying over seven lakh cusecs of water.
River Godavari also saw a revival in flood surge on Friday with 7.34 lakh cusecs of water flowing into the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Dowaleswaram.
One person was reported dead in Guntur district in the Krishna flood, according to the State Disaster Management Authority.
Chambal River Four Metre Above Danger Mark, Police Issues Advisory
The flood situation in Rajasthan's Dholpur worsened on Friday, 16 August, where the river Chambal is flowing at four metre above the danger mark. The police have also issued an advisory asking people not to go near the river.
The advisory also asked people not to use the old Chambal bridge, since it has been taken as a suicide spot in the recent times.
"In view of the high water level in Chambal river at present and incidents of suicides on the old bridge in the last few days, common people are appealed to be cautious of the increased water level and not to go near the river," the advisory was quoted by India Today as saying.
Further, ANI reported flooding in Rajasthan’s Sikar following heavy rainfall in the region.

18 Killed in Rain-Related Incidents in Himachal Pradesh
At least 18 people were killed and nine others injured in rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, officials cited by PTI said.
Eight people died in Shimla, two each in Kullu, Sirmaur, Solan and Chamba, and one each in Una and Lahaul-Spiti districts, they added.

Flood Alert for Delhi as Yamuna Likely to Cross Danger Mark on Monday
The Delhi government on Sunday sounded a flood alert for the city and asked people living in low-lying areas to move to safer places as the water level in the Yamuna river is expected to cross the danger mark, officials cited by PTI said.
The Yamuna was flowing at 203.37 metres on Sunday evening and its water level is expected to rise up to 207 metres on Monday as 8.28 lakh cusecs water, the highest till date, was released from Haryana's Hathini Kund barrage at 6 pm, an official said.
"Water level is rising due to heavy rains as well as release of water from Hathini Kund Barrage and water level of Yamuna may rise up to 207 metres by 10 am tomorrow, putting at risk public life and property," East Delhi district said in its order.
