Uttarakhand Hit by Forest Fire Again, This Time in Uttarkarshi
Uttarkarshi in Uttarakhand witnessed a forest fire on Sunday morning at 4 am. Efforts to douse it are underway.

Varunavat Parvat in Uttarkarshi, an area infamous for landslides, witnessed a raging forest fire on Sunday. A team consisting of 25 forest personnel was deployed to contain and terminate the fire in this region of Uttarakhand, reported The Times of India.
This incident comes only a week after Uttarakhand struggled to end forest fires in different parts of the state.
The fire was witnessed at 4 am in the morning at Varunavat Parvat. The divisional forest officer sent 25 forest personnel to the affected area. The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained. However, there are no reports of injury to any human being.

Uttarakhand has been afflicted by destructive forest fires the past couple of weeks owing to a spell of dryness in the region. These fires have destroyed thousands of hectares of land in many districts and claimed several lives.
