The Uttar Pradesh Board exam results – which were declared on Sunday, 29 April, for classes 10 and 12 – revealed that 150 schools registered zero results, reported Hindustan Times.
Of the 150 schools, all class 10 students of 98 schools failed, while all class 12 students of 52 schools could not clear the examinations.
The reason behind this was the implementation of strict anti-copying measures in schools that were supported by the state government, Neena Srivastava, UP Board Secretary, told HT.
The implementation of such measures forced several students to leave the exam mid-way and prevented “examinees from using unfair means,” she added.
According to The Times of India, several schools had less than 10 students enrolled in both classes 10 and class 12 for the examinations. Additionally, around 237 schools in the state have a pass percentage less than 20.
While six schools in Allahabad and Azamgarh districts reported zero results, five schools each in Hardoi, Bahraich, Mau and Mirzapur districts reported the same, Hindustan Times reported.
