Over a dozen people were feared dead when two express trains on Tuesday night derailed while crossing a bridge on Machak river. Ten coaches of the Mumbai-Varansi Kamayani Express and five bogies of Jabalpur-Mumbai Janata Express have fallen into the river, near the Kudawa railway station, around 25 kilometres from Harda

“Nearly 25 passengers suffered injuries,” Piyush Mathur, Public Relations Officer of West Central Railway said.

Railways said the sudden flow of water on the tracks caused the derailment of the two trains while they were crossing the swollen Machak river near Harda in Madhya Pradesh.
