Amjad Pathan and Azgar Pathan, two people from Kutch district in Gujarat, have been booked by the police for attacking Jayanti Bhati, a Dalit man allegedly for wearing a pathani suit on 3 December.

According to the case details, the incident occurred on 26 November near Green Palace Hotel in Gandhidham, a town in Kutch district.

Bhati was taking tea near the hotel when both the accused came on a motorbike and started arguing with him on why he was wearing a pathani suit, reported The Times of India.

“You belong to lower caste and should not wear a pathani.”
