Two young men in their 20s were reportedly beaten up near the Kesarbaug bridge in Indore for allegedly transporting beef, reports The Indian Express.

Nadim and Imran have been arrested for violating Madhya Pradesh’s prohibition of cow slaughter act, Inspector Sunil Sharma, Rajendranagar police station, told the paper.

In June 2019, the Madhya Pradesh government had said that anyone indulging in any violence in the name of cow vigilantism could be jailed up to three years, if found guilty.
