Has porn been banned in India? It’s the raging question of the hour. For once, the nation really does want to know.

Last month the Supreme Court had said that it would not ban the private viewing of porn. This report in the Hindu quoted Chief Justice H L Dattu as saying “Such interim orders cannot be passed by this court. Somebody may come to the court and say look I am above 18 and how can you stop me from watching it within the four walls of my room. It is a violation of Article 21 [right to personal liberty.”

Despite this since Saturday porn sites have not been accessible. Real or not, the apparent ban has got the Twitterati reacting.
