Grenade Attacks in Kashmir Done by Jaish-e-Mohammad: J&K DGP

On Wednesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid claimed the multiple grenade attacks which took place on Tuesday were done by Jaish-e-Mohammad, according to initial reports.

Hizb-ul-Mujahedeen (HM) is a group which has a larger presence, but the Jaish-e-Mohammad was behind yesterday’s incidents as per our intelligence report. Though the HM has claimed the attack, it’s not true.

Though no casualties have been reported till now, two constables and nine Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans sustained minor injuries.

He also promised that the Amarnath Yatra would happen without a glitch.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Pakistan Army initiated indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and 82 mm Mortars in the Bhimber Gali sector along the Line of Control (LoC).

Terrorists fired upon an Army camp of 22 Rashtriya Rifles at Pazalpora in North Kashmir, on Tuesday. They reportedly fled after a retaliatory attempt by the Army.

Earlier in the evening, terrorists lobbed grenades at a camp of CRPF's 180 Battalion, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral sector at 6:05 pm on 13 June.

Ten CRPF personnel have been injured in the attack, and three personnel are said to be in critical condition.

This is the second attack in Tral in 24 hours. At least two personnel were left injured in an attack that took place earlier on Monday.

Another grenade attack occurred close to Tral in Pulwama, on Tuesday, this time on a police station. Earlier on Tuesday evening, motorcycle-borne terrorists hurled a grenade at CRPF personnel in the same area.

In a separate incident, two policemen were injured in Anantnag, when terrorists attempted to snatch their weapons.
