Two trainee pilots, a woman and a man, were killed after their aircraft crashed in a field in Vikarabad district in Telangana on Sunday, 6 October, police said.

The incident took place around 12:45 pm in Bantwaram mandal of the district, resulting in the two pilots’ deaths, they said. The aircraft had taken off from Begumpet airport.

A case has been registered and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem, reported ANI.

A resident of the village said it was raining heavily when the trainer aircraft crashed, PTI further reported.

The aircraft belongs to a private aviation training institute in Hyderabad, the police said.
