Delhi Police’s special cell on Thursday arrested three terror suspects from Jalandhar, Mumbai and Bijnor in a joint operation with Uttar Pradesh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad. Six others are also being interrogated.

Police received a tip-off that the group was being readied for terror activities.

UP ATS official said that Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mumbai and Bihar Police were also involved in the operations.

According to CNN-News18, the suspects used to read radical literature that was circulated by ISIS affiliates.

Reports earlier suggested that the suspects were linked with ISIS, but UP ADG (law & order) Daljeet Choudhary said the four have been self-radicalised and are not affiliated with any group.

Calling it a “criminal conspiracy”, he further informed that evidence was found against the arrested.

Choudhary also said they are “misguided youths and can be admitted to the mainstream after counselling”.
