The Quint’s reporter Taruni Kumar was manhandled and assaulted by members of the ABVP outside Ramjas college as she tried to capture the violent clashes on a Facebook Live.

The equipment she was carrying, including a phone, mic and selfie stick, was broken by the protesters. The police then jumped in immediately and got her phone back.

The protests at the college are happening in the aftermath of a seminar getting cancelled in the college after ABVP members protested against the participation of Jawaharlal Nehru University students, Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid Shora. Khalid is one of the students who was embroiled in the entire JNU row same time last year.
