3 Terrorists and 1 Policeman Killed in Srinagar Encounter 

All educational institutions have been closed and Internet were suspended in the Srinagar district.

At least three terrorists and one police personnel were killed during an encounter in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, 17 October, ANI reported.

The deceased policeman was identified as Kamal belonging from Reasi district of J&K. Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were also injured during the encounter IANS reported.

One of the slain terrorist was identified as Mehraj Bangroo - a wanted militant belonging to Fateh Kadal.

Earlier, the affected area was cordoned off as the encounter between the J&K police and the terrorists.

Meanwhile, all educational institutions have been closed and internet has been suspended in the Srinagar district in view of the gunfight.

Wreath-Laying Ceremony

Following the attack, Director General of Police of Kashmir Dilbag Singh, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP), SP Pani and troops from Special Operation Group (SOG) attended the wreath-laying ceremony of the deceased policeman.
