SP Leader Azam Khan Wants All Slaughterhouses Shut Across India

The veteran SP leader also urged Muslim’s to refrain from eating meat.

Samajawadi Party’s veteran leader and nine-time MLA Azam Khan is echoing the sentiments of the current BJP government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh.

The former minister has called for shutting down of both illegal and legal slaughterhouses across the country.

Cow slaughter should be banned across the country. Why is it so that it is legal in states like Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura, but not in other states? For very long I have been saying that we should stop it. No one should be slaughtered. I want all slaughter houses to be banned. No animals should be cut.

He also urged the Muslims to stop consuming meat.

“It is not mandated in Islam that Muslims should eat meat. I appeal to the people that they should stop eating meat,” he said.

Khan, while referring to the anti-Romeo squad formation by the UP government said that he is all for strict action against "Muslim brothers and sisters who are found in parks”.
