Not About Azaan or Aarti, It’s About the Loudspeaker: Sonu Nigam

Singer Sonu Nigam who kicked up a storm on Monday after tweeting against the azaan from a loudspeaker disturbing his sleep, has tweeted again reiterating his point.

The Bollywood singer, who brought about an intense online debate on the use of loudspeakers in religious places tweeted:

Dear everyone. Your stand exposes your own IQ. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in Mosques & Temples. Period

Nigam also retweeted some of the tweets the he received in reaction to him bringing up the issue. While he agreed with some:

He also tried to make his stand clear to others like music composer Wajid, who had tweeted asking Nigam to try and put his point of view without hurting sentiments:

While Sonu’s tweet has brought back the focus on the illegal use of loudspeakers in religious places, it also seems to have ruffled a few feathers who feel that the timing and intention of his tweets are suspect.
