Hours after senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari’s murder, the Kashmir police on Friday, 15 June, released pictures of three bike-borne masked men, who are suspected to be his killers.

The police has requested the general public to assist in identifying the suspects. The three men were caught on a CCTV camera, the police told PTI.

The pictures showed the suspected attackers riding a motorcycle, with their faces covered.

Soon after Bukhari’s death, the Jammu and Kashmir police had said although preliminary investigation indicated that it was a terror attack, further probe is underway.

The editor of the Rising Kashmir newspaper, Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead by unknown assailants at the Press Enclave in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar earlier on Thursday, 14 June. Bukhari was shot by 3-4 armed men, sources told The Quint.

Bukhari was shifted to a hospital, along with two of his Personal Security Officers (PSO), where all three of them succumbed to injuries.
