A joint operation between the Army and the Special Operations Group (SOG) against militants, in Chillipora village in Kashmir’s Shopian district, was called off on the morning of 4 March.

A gunfight ensued after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Chillipora. Officials said they cordoned off the village after receiving a tip-off that two or three militants were hiding in the village, the Indian Express reported.
