On 23 March, India marks Martyrs’ Day in the memories of three freedom fighters – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who were hanged to death on this day in Lahore Central Jail in 1931.

The day is also known as Shaheed Diwas.

Bhagat Singh’s words continue to motivate many. So, here are a few inspirational quotes on Shaheed Diwas:

“A rebellion is not a revolution. It may ultimately lead to that end.”
Bhagat Singh
“I will climb the gallows gladly and show to the world as to how bravely the revolutionaries can sacrifice themselves for the cause.”
Bhagat Singh
“By crushing individuals they cannot kill ideas.”
Bhagat Singh
“I am such a lunatic that I am free even in jail.”
Bhagat Singh
“Bombs and pistols do not make a revolution. The sword of revolution is sharpened on the whetting stone of ideas.”
Bhagat Singh
“Old order should change, always and ever, yielding place to new, so that one “good” order may not corrupt the world.”
Bhagat Singh
