The Supreme Court on Wednesday, 20 February, will hear a plea seeking Central Bureau of Investigation's probe into the murders of three Bharatiya Janata Party workers in West Bengal, ANI reported.

Eighteen-year-old BJP worker Trilochan Mahato was found hanging from a tree on 30 May 2018 in Purulia's Balarampur district, which was followed by the death of Dulal Kumar who was found hanging from a pole.

BJP worker Shaktipada Sardar was hacked in West Bengal's Diamond Harbour area on 28 July 2018.

The apex court earlier in August 2018 had issued notices to the Centre and the state government seeking their responses on the murders.

BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia has sought CBI's probe into the matter.

The deaths of BJP workers had sparked an outrage in the state and the party had blamed Trinamool Congress for the attacks.
