  • The Supreme Court on Monday quashed criminal proceedings against Indian T20 captain, MS Dhoni for allegedly ‘offending sentiments’ after being portrayed as Lord Vishnu on a magazine cover.

In January 2016, Dhoni was issued a non-bailable warrant by the Anantpur Court. The warrant came three years after the cover was published.

  • The Supreme Court had stayed the criminal proceedings pending before an Andhra Pradesh court against Dhoni and issued a notice to complainant Yerraguntla Shyam Sundar, who had asked for invocation of penal charges against Dhoni for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
