‘We Feel the Same’: SC on Plea to Stop Funding J&K Separatists

The PIL filed says that more than Rs 100 crore is spent on separatists by the government.

  • Responding to a petition filed in the Supreme Court to stop the government from funding separatists in Jammu & Kashmir, Judge Anil Dave, reportedly, said, “We also share the same feelings. Everybody sitting here feels the same.”

  • The judge’s response came after Advocate ML Sharma filed his petition. Sharma is also the lawyer for one of the main accused in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape case.

  • The PIL, reportedly, seeks to stem funding to separatists for foreign travel and other expenses. It says that more than 100 crore is spent on separatists by the government.
