Noted journalist and author Sagarika Ghose tweeted on Friday asking the government to act against those behind the alleged killings of Muslims across the country – and triggered a Twitter storm in the process.

Ghose’s tweet immediately drew sharp reactions from twitterati, with one user even claiming to have filed an FIR against her.

The trolling that followed forced her to delete her tweet after some time and apologise for hurting sentiments.

But that did not stop tweeple from bashing her for "hurting sentiments", "spreading lies" and "hate mongering", while many said that merely apologising wasn’t enough.

One Twitter users even claimed to have filed an FIR against the journalist.

Ghose replied to those threatening to file FIRs against her, saying that she hoped that at least one FIR was also filed against those who killed Muslims.
